Who we serve in Papua New Guinea...

As Christians, our desire should be to serve those God brings into our sphere of influence, whomever that may be. Typically, that will be those in our community; for us, the Bible translation families and support staff of Ukarumpa. But God also often calls us outside of our comfort zones, to go into the wider community and show the love of Jesus Christ to those in need. Ministering at the local hospital in Kainantu by praying with people, giving out banana bread and clean water is a small thing by the world’s standards, but if done with love it makes a difference in people’s lives. Kathy found the best way to spend her birthday was by praying with the new moms and their babies and offering them food and drink, baby clothes and blankets and feminine hygiene kits. Scott prayed with the men in the wards and gave out water and food as well. Who is God calling you to reach out to in your community with love, prayer and practical needs? Our faith is active when we serve those in need around us with the love of Christ.

Above: Please pray for peace and healing for the patients and the resources needed for the staff at the rural hospital in Kainantu.
