“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him. “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Luke 11:1-2 NIV
It has been such a blessing to be in New England this summer, sharing with churches and individuals about everything God is doing in Papua New Guinea through Bible translation and our support ministries. It has been equally refreshing for us to hear about what is going on in your lives, as we have visited with so many of you. We do not take for granted those opportunities to spend time with people, to hear about how God is working in their lives, and to be able to pray for each one with intentionality and insight. Jesus spent time in relationship with people, and time alone interceding on their behalf to His Father. Much like the sunflowers we have enjoyed here in Dover, we want to keep our faces turned toward the Son and follow Jesus’ example. Please continue to let us know how we can be praying for you. It is always with sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friends and family here in New England but we are so grateful for the time we have had with you all and you will be in our hearts and in our prayers. We look forward to traveling south in October to visit the rest of our family and friends whom we have not yet seen, even as we begin our preparations to return to PNG. Thank you for your prayers for our safe travels and for God’s provision for medical checks and financial partners. We trust in His timing and plan to return to PNG in time for the new school semester in January
